Mayor Warren, Rochester Coalition for Neighborhood Living Announce Neighborhood-Focused ‘Celebrate City Living’ Event
(Tuesday, June 14, 2016) – Mayor Lovely A. Warren announced today that the City of Rochester, City Council and the Rochester Coalition for Neighborhood Living continue to promote city residency with its series of neighborhood events. Celebrate City Living is a year-round program designed to encourage city residency for consumers at every stage of the housing search, including renters, first-time homebuyers, experienced owners, those who require financial assistance and those seeking high-end, luxury spaces.
Celebrate City Living: Celebrate Charlotte, sponsored by Canandaigua National Bank, will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, June 25 on the first floor of the Port Terminal building, 1000 N. River St. Visitors can explore housing options in Charlotte, meet with business owners and sample tastings from several restaurants. Participants can enjoy free live music and visit the Tall Ship Andalucia in the harbor.
“Bringing Celebrate City Living events into our neighborhoods gives us an opportunity to showcase the distinctive character and wide variety of housing choices in each of Rochester’s communities,” said Mayor Warren. “As we work to create safer more vibrant neighborhoods, more jobs and better educational opportunities throughout the city, it is important that we give residents and potential residents a chance to get to know Rochester’s many distinct communities in their search for an ideal home.”
In addition to neighborhood events, www.celebratecityliving.com continues as a resource where people can find additional information to help research city neighborhoods for a house or apartment. The site connects users to available resources, including REALTORS®, landlords, lenders and non-profit agencies that specialize in city housing. It also features a custom search engine that filters available housing choices by neighborhood along with profiles of the neighborhoods. The interactive website includes a social media center and enables both community members and merchants to submit neighborhood events to a community calendar.
The Rochester Coalition for Neighborhood Living is made up of the following: The City of Rochester; M&T Bank; Ibero-American Development Corp.; The Housing Council at PathStone; NeighborWorks® Rochester; Citizens Bank; The Landmark Society of Western New York; Greater Rochester Association of Realtors; Game Plan Marketing; ROC City Realty; New2U Homes; Hart’s Local Grocers and Magellan Realty. This year’s title sponsor is Five Star Bank.
