After one of the coldest February’s on record, the Realtors Charitable Foundation presented $60,000 to three local agencies to aid their efforts in caring for the homeless in the Rochester region. The foundation presented $20,000 each to The Open Door Mission, The Rochester Area Interfaith Hospitality Network (RAIHN), and The House of Mercy.
“Everyday, there are men, women and children in our community struggling to survive without a roof over their heads and a warm meal in their stomachs,” said Jeremy Havens, RCF chair. “We are grateful to be able to help these organizations continue to provide these greatly needed services to the people in need.”
The foundation is an organization of Rochester real estate professionals that have raised more than $690,000 since 2003. It has funded grants to Rochester organizations that support the homeless population and others in great need. Its mission is to give back to the community by providing opportunities for affordable home ownership and addressing critical housing needs.
